how do you safely clean up (get rid of) old versions of saved projects(songs) -to clean up before moving on to my second album.
i want to keep just the final mixdown version(per project folder) and rid my self of many other versions as well as get rid of other (per project folders) of the same tune (that didn't pan out)

Pop the Cakewalk-CD into your computer and install CWAF (Cakewalk Audio Finder). :)

what does that do CWAF

It locates wave files and tells you what Cakewalk projects they are associated with.

My suggestion would be to backup all your projects to bundle files (make sure they open up OK before going any further). Then put all the bundle files in a separate folder on your hard drive, and delete all the other projects except the bundles.

Afterwards you can re-open the bundles and save them as project files again (assuming that is what you want to do). You can also put copies of the bundles on CD's (if they are below 650 MB).

And if you're so old-fashioned that you're still using bundles, convert to using Folders-Per-Project... ;)
