I'm not sure if I heard a "pop" around 3/4 of the way through..like a bad punch pop. I take it this is the rhythm track with either a lead instrument or vocal melody to be added?? As an instrumental...w/ no melody....sheesh...boring man...but if you're gonna add vocal or melody inst...forget what I said...Anyway...The mix sounded good here man. I like the fullness of the acoustic guitar...very clear and clean...no dist. or peak probs that I heard..The distorted guitar sounds perfectly mixed in the mix to me. Drums are ok..could be better..maybe wet them up. The bass part was boring...seemed like mostly root playing...yuk..dull..but again..the "mix" and "recording" sound fine to me.

EXCELLENT review man.... very cool...

Thanks so much...
I will check for the pop...can you please give me a specific time in the mix?

I was thinking about tuning my bass down to D and coming up with some decent grooves...
I could definitely add more verb to the drums...I laid off a bit on this mix man...
boring?
I agree...but I think it has promise too...
Thanks man,
Joe

I heard some popping too...sounds like punch-in noise or clipping

can't hear any kick drum

the acoustic guitar may have a bit too much low end EQ, because I didn't hear a bass line very clearly

I actually thought the distorted guitar was a little weak in the mix..I would like to hear it fattened up a little bit

otherwise solid work, dude!

Listening to it now Joe. Hearing very sweet guitar playing, very solid playing, nice blend of the acoustic and electric (I thought the relative levels were great). You're definitely missing a trick with the bass (as a bass player myself) there's scope for doing a lot more.

Not much going on in the higher frequencies - maybe bring the hihat up a bit? The pop I heard was between about 0.20 and 0.25.

Hi Fellas,

Great ears...thanks..

list to do....

1. re-track bass (tune down and get funky :D )
2. find the frickin' pops and eradicate them....probably clipping on the drums..
I am still a newbie on programming drums...I think I do it ass backwards....
3. Vox melody and lyric....comin' right up.... :D
4. try it without the Les Paul track...
5. try it with a louder Les Paul track... :D
6. add some high end to the cymbals...

cool
Thanks again fellas,
Joe

that acoustic sounds just like mine, what guitar u got and what mic u use to record?

the sound quality is fine, whatever...it works for a home recorded demo pretty well. the music on the other hand, while not bad, its catchy...but it goes on and on and on and on with the same basic riff for 3 and a half minutes. you need a song here...not this. its boreing after 45 seconds of that same thing. im just giving my opinion and trying to help you improve this cause i think if you had more than like 3 parts then it might actually have a standing with people's ears. i cant believe im the only one to say this..but it has potential

lol!

that's the best review yet man..I agree 100%

vox and melody are coming,....................soon hopefully..

Thanks man,
Joe

Excelent, I'm glad that it will have vocals. Cymbal hits sound a bit cheesy, but hey, thats unavoidable when programming drums for the most part.

It's a bit blurry down the low end, perhaps make the bass part a bit more trebly? I'm not sure. I listened with open air speakers and closed HD25 headphones.. bassline isnt so distinguishable.

I love the distorted guitar/accoustic combo! Sounds really distinctive! I hear the pop about 0:25, and it sounds like a cymbal sound clipping slightly. Yes, its on the bridge thing later on as well.

Musically, catchy riff, maybe some sort of a chorus part to it though?

I agree, has potential.

Hi Joro

I thought the bass was a little too loud. I also hear the 'pop'. That everyone else mentioned. Regarding the song itself, I agree with what's been said. YOu need a melody (whether it be singing or an instrumental solo) and some variation (like a chorus). I usually find that putting a song together is much harder and time consuming than coming up with a basic idea like a riff. That's what you've got to do now. Good luck.

Jonathan
