Hi guys,

I've been on these forums since i was 14 years old, waiting for the right time to put together my own studio, and thanks to Christmas, that time is now. :D

I got around 1200 dollars CAD to get me started.

So far, I've bought a Alesis I/O 26 for 370 CAD (STEAL)

Two Naiant Studio X/T's SDCs (Matched pair)

One Audio Technica ATM63 dynamic,

Studio Projects B1

A couple cheap tom mics, and an ATPROP25 for basses and kicks.

I need advice on a couple more things:

Monitors? around 200-300 USD preferably.

3 pack of speakerrepair.com SM57 clones? I've heard good things here on the boards.

Cables/Stands-Anyone got any for sale? : )

ROOM TREATMENT. I know, I know, I haven't forgotten about it don't worry. Basically the room I'm going to be working on is a large unfinished basement area. Concrete floors, and an unfinished ceiling. Cheap panelled walls. Might start a seperate thread to cover this though...

I'm super psyched to be finally getting my shit together for my own studio.

I owe a lot to these boards for teaching me so much already, thanks everyone.

Any tips, critiques, comments, ideas? Where should I be focusing on more, less?

You really have several questions here, and this forum is only appropriate for the room treatment one. The problem is only a small subset of HR members even read this board. I'll leave your thread here though, since it's mainly a room treatment question . . . but you should post a WTB (want to buy) thread on Free Ads looking for used cables, you'll get a better response there.

If you want me to move the thread to Newbies, let me know :)

actually ya good idea, go ahead and move it over to newbies, makes more sense. :)

thanks
