with a every mic you buy either bad quality or the best quailty you always need the best XRL cable you can get... i suggest the MOGAMi XRL cable to connect to you phantom power... vitually every studio is wired with mogami cable... if you use a 6.99 XRl cable or 24.99 there would be a loss or sound and have distorations while vocaling your skills.. or there would be a static loss and statics while you talk and makes a sssss thats why get a the bestt XRL cable your budget can get

OF cours not to forget .....

..... the best advise comes frm thoze who cant spell but who warm agenst static loss.

I think this was supposed to go in the 16 or 24 bit thread, actually. It kinda makes sense there.

OK I'll bite. What is the difference in resistance and capacitance between the two cables, and what effect does that have at a microphone-signal impedance?

You know how when a capacitor is presented with AC in a power supply, it essentially smooths the signal by dumping current back out when none is present on the input? Mic cables work the same way. Balance must be achieved or else the capacitor must dissipate the energy as heat (e.g. DC).

For a low cost cable, little money was put into the cable, so there is a limited need to talk about it to achieve this balance. The higher the price point, the more the purchaser feels that he/she needs to talk about it in order to feel that he/she is getting out of it something similar to what was put in.

:D

Guyss,
You're not lisstening! You buy to need to buy the besssst cable, (Monsstergami) to prevent sstatic and ssssss's.

Although dgatwood makess a good point.

This advice applies only to "XRL" cables and they should be at least 6.99 length and 24.99 width for loss or sound while vocaling.

Aren't "XRL" cables off balance?

I know XLR are balanced!
