Yep, I know its a weird question, but I was wondering exactly how much a VS-1680 would cost these days. Me and a friend have found what seems to be a decent offer, but can't find anything to base it on. Does anyone know? Thanks!

$900 in good condition w/burner and one...maybe two...efx cosm boards.

Hmmm pretty cheap, considering the Effects / Burner. But still above the offer ;)

I think it really depends on the machine itself. If you can see it and try it before you buy it then I would say it is worth maybe even a bit more (not much) just because I don't like how the products after the 1680 feel. The 1880 had about the same build quality from what I remember, but now everything feels cheap and the faders are like something made by FisherPrice.

If you can get some A/D converters as outboard gear you can record at 24 bits. Otherwise you are stuck with 20 bit.

I would even suggest waiting a while and see if any other products take a price drop soon. I might consider selling you mine. I am interested in getting an Alesis AdatHD. I don't have the money right know to get one so I would be without a recorder for a while......heh..........plus I still have to get a mixer but my friend has a 12 channel Mackie, so..............

How soon are you looking to get something like this?

Well the guy we've found lives in the same city as us, so we're hoping to ring him up and see if we can go round and look at it before hand, which would be good. It's rare to get these kind of offers (especially here in the UK) and so locally that it appears pretty good. I'll update you if you want soon :P
