yeah man i totally see what you mean now..
and the reason i though that extending it thru any of the means mentioned would work is because im still working with multiple tracks, and when i add a super long reverb or delay to the end it keeps going and going, but you are totally right, it wont lengthen the track itself, but the sound will keep playing until it's done.
i never actually thought about what would happen when i mixed it down. i was hoping that the new track would be rendered to whatever marker i specified for the mix, and as long as that marker is set beyond the end of the original tracks then the new mix down would end there and thus be longer to allow the mix to carry to the end of the effect.
i thought this was also possible with a stereo mix track.
if it doesn't work that way then i will be in exactly the same boat as you.. all my tracks end long before the effects on a couple of songs.
we'll see what happens when i bother to mix those projects..
anyway, glad you got it sorted, and at least i know i can lengthen the wav files if i can't get it to work otherwise.
