I just downloaded the evaluation version of Ntracks to check it out and I noticed that the recording levels are showing activity even without anything hooked up. When I try to record guitar parts via a mic they just clip insanely. Anyone know how to fix this? I'm still in the process of reading the manual etc but any help you gents could offer is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

Do you have your equipment hooked up in any way that could cause an infinite loop???

Also, make sure you go into the Windows audio mixer's Recording Properties and ONLY have the port checked that you want to record from (preferably the Line-In only).

If you have a cheap soundcard with a high floor noise you'll get the vu meters always showing action, as to the clipping i dunno

I don't have a nice sound card yet and I figured out that the activity on the input meters was due to the computer's mic. I found out by whistling and watching them shoot straight up. I'll just have to wait until I get my 2496 to try out the Ntrack program.
