I posted the song in the guitar forum telling people that I had finally gotten a guitar tone I am really pleased with, and responses agreed and also said other noteable things about the song that led me to post it here. This is asi9 by the way, for some reason I can't post as my old name.

Anyway, this song uses POD and a little ingenuity for the guitars. Vocals using an Oktava MC319. Bass direct (which I think sounds like shit), and then drums w/ 2 overheads, a snare mic, and a kick mic, and that's it. Vocals and guitar = good. Bass and drums = bad.

This Psychostick song goes out to any of you guys that ever had to put up with a bitchy and controlling woman. The song is called "Throwin' Down", download it at www.mp3.com/psychostick and tell us what you think.

Dude.... sorry to hear that you're dating my ex-fiance'...

Well, it sounds like HER you're talking about! ;)

Great tune, man!.... Loved it!

Absolutely a stellar performance!

I can't comment on the recording aspect, since I'm on the computer at work... with the crappy internal speakers.... sorry.

But, the song itself is great!

The bass guitar needs to have the same power as the guitar, it's too clean. Run it through an overdrive or distortion pedal.

Sheeeeeeeit, sounds perfect. The vocals are AWESOME, and the guitar, if that's what you wanted, comes over well.

Where's Asi9, btw? Haven't seen him in a while.... love your site, as always...

I'm right here!!! I'm on a friend's computer, for some reason my normal comp won't let me log out of the name UberGawkman, which is a screename I made up once when I couldn't find my password.

Thanks for the good words.... I'll definitely consider giving the bass a little more drive.

btw, you can't log out of a username unless the cookie is erased from your harddrive. Then when you come back, you can log on...

Thanks Kelly!!!

That worked. Everytime I tried to log out it said my cookies were cleared, but apparently it was lying.

I'm back to my old self again!!!!

I read your technique in the guitar forum

Sounds great man! I'd bring the drums up a little though, not the cymbols but the rest. That is what death metal guitar should sound like. The bass sounds great to me on a subwoofer(ed) system.

Yeah, death metal guys usually scoop the mids out so much that you can't even tell what notes they're playing... you just hear hiss from the high end and a low end boom.

I agree, the drums are too quiet (we'll bring those up when we're getting a better sound out of them)
