Now THIS is a studio..

you know... as cool as it would be to have all that stuff... i can see how recording would suddenly become a huge complicated task. of course if your next meal depended on your recording you'd do it either way (not that this guy seems to be worrying about where his next meal is coming from) but for someone who still enjoys recording for the fun of it (thats all of us) it'd suddenly become this huge deal just to record a song. i kind of like just sticking one of my 5 mics up to something, running it into a preamp (either a tubepre or my yamaha mg preamps) and a mixer and into my recorder. Then, when i mix all i have to mess with is an eq and a compressor. With all this... i dont think itd be that simple.

on second thought.... screw it i want a studio like that. i'd give my house for it, i could live there. and who needs a car. and i'd give up my computer, so that means no more of this message board, sorry guys.

Better to see her than hear her. She sounds godawful. Like a female kermit the frog. Terrible, TERRIBLE voice. By the way, Mr. Doc.

You are a silly man for selling me this Gibby. AWESOME piece man!!! :D

Instant chemistry. Beautiful instrument..easily my favorite guitar.

Glad you are enjoying it- I had it set up for you before I sent it. The pleasure is all mine...

It looks like the bridge of the Starship Enterprise!

.............. ;)

He must have had fun sorting grounding issues out with all that equipment.

Come on..... All of that and no Fairchild?

Don't forget I know some guys that buy 5 of something because they just don't like to keep messing with the knobs. They would rather buy a bunch so they always have the diffrent settings.

When I die I want my body to be mounted in a glass-fronted case and set into the wall opposite to the rack wall in the first picture.
That's my idea of heaven :D

Interesting turn of events here

My inital reaction was "Holy Sh*t"! Immediate and intense envy down to what's left of my soul. Then I read Kasey's post. This sort of over the top acquisition for acquisition's sake kind of woke me up to something. Kind of like if you like to watch porn, then you watch 'Caligula'. Kind of sickens you. A little like an alcoholic hitting bottom. Thanks BigRay.

And thanks Kasey, for the epiphany, even if I've had it before. Back to the basics, man.

But Holy Sh*t! I'll bet he wouldn't even miss that RNC. ;)

I bet the manual for the Patchbays are more complex than any single piece that is connected to them.

Heh. I was just thinking something very close to that.

Hey,...

IF I could fit ALL my gear in one room, & stack it floor-to-cieling, side-by-side,... it would look very much like the pics in the above post!

I've never done it because (new houses,) cables and racks are EXPENSIVE!

 ;)

Jez...but can you handle that much of stuff in one studio?! lol

And the capture system is a Tascam Porta02? C'mon now!

I wonder if he became successful by EQing the shit out of tracks.

he has several gold and platinum records under his belt. And I think some grammys. The dude seems like a very cool cat and spends a lot of time answering questions and what not. But I agree, looking at Shakira is much better than listening. But Armando deserves all of his success and toys. I almost have that much except my stuff all fits on a corner desk :)
