Who the devil is Rupert Murdoch? I know the name but can't place why. Isn't he a DC comics villian or something?
 
i'm starting my own now... but not for music... just to be an elitist bastard with an invite only social network
 
I'm just guessing, but I think Rupert has better things to do than to mess with a bunch of people feebly trying to promote their music. I don't see why anyone would need to migrate somewhere else.

BTW Oddly enough, whenever something successful is bought, it is usually bought by people (or companies) with a lot of money. Hating the rich is a waste of time. When was the last time a poor person gave you a job?

Assuming you know what his agenda is, at least you have some idea what you are dealing with. What was the agenda of the people he bought it from. They could have been funneling the money to buy condoms for Bolivian goat herders for all we know.

to disseminate right wing propaganda - war, bigotry, that the greenhouse effect doesn't exist.. that evolution vs creation is some sort of 'debate' and that we need more security in this country...more governmental power..more police...that the taxpayers should be subsidizing already profitable corporations...that god wants an opening in the supreme court.

I would lay odds that his personal views are not what you describe. He is merely doing what it takes to have a successful company. And it's working, Fox news has the highest ratings of all the cable news channels.

Remember, if it's on TV, it's 'show business' and is most likely bullshit. CNN and MSNBC aren't any better about it, you just happen to like their kind of lies more than the ones Fox News tells. You can't take any of it seriously.

If someone is giving you the 'news' and they seem to have an opinion about it, it's not news. That would be a commentary. News doesn't have an agenda. The news doesn't care how anything turns out.

All the news channels are guilty of the same thing.
 
very true. except maybe pbs. but does it really matter? I dont want to be there...are there any other decent sites? if not..its only a matter of time.

PBS is full of crap too. They should get a medal for being elitist without coming off as conservative.


Seriously I don't know of any other site right now.
 
I'm sticking with my space unless they drastically change the format. It's a great networking tool. Now there is another site thats in its infancy and just getting started but definitely worth checking out www.musicnerve.com
