Well I was lazy and it cost me something. I put new strings on my Strat the other day and didn't cut off the excess string. While I was playing and recording the little E accidentally slipped into one of the slidder tracks on my mixer and I heard a little crackle and now that channel goes in and out at its own will. Just when I think I got everything hooked up and working they way I want it..

POOF!

Dude, hope that you were not hurt by this, but did it record a cool sound during the whole thing?

I wasn't hurt but it did record a "speaker pumpin" crackle!

Hehe that happened to me once but the string slipped between a power socket!!

That made a little poof too....

My amp once fried while I was playing my "The Paul" guitar and I didn't notice it because I set the guitar down to go drain the monster. I just turned down the volume pots on the guitar and set it down. When I came back I picked it up and got zapped with a 110 jolt, then noticed that one of the strings was glowing like the heater filament on an electric heater! It melted the plastic nut before I could yank the plug on the system.
