Noob question regarding FX pedal to mic hookup

Hey I have a question for those who might be able to help me. I want to use the effects of my M13 Modeler through my MXL 990 condenser microphone. I attached a few pictures of what I'm working with (The interface is a mere Mbox Mini).

I was THINKING I could do this?: Mic > (XLR female = XLR male) > (XLR female > quarter inch) > M13 input ....and then quarter inch cable from the output of the M13 to the input of the Mbox....BUT then I forgot I couldn't use the phantom power from the mbox to power it....sooo....do I need to buy a phantom power box and run that into the chain? Or is there a better/more efficient way to do this? HELP! THANKS!

A standalone mic preamp may be the best solution. Something with phantom power of course, but also separate gain and output controls in case you need to trim the level back to match the modeler's input sensitivity.

I use a dynamic mic: an EV co4 used a xlr to 1/4 inch to the dunlop wah pedal for my funky hippy saxophoneness.
