Hi huys, i'm totally new to this and would appreciate some advice.

I would like to record rock type music. I can only play guitar. For now i would like to record guitar add in drum and bass "electronically". Vocals will come later.

I have just recently bought Reason 3 and must still learn how it works. I have also bought instructional videos that will help hopefully for that part.

Equipment:

AMD 4400+ dual core
2gb ram
M-audio Audiophile 2496 card
Boston CR65 speakers
Audio Analogue Primo amp
8 channel Alto mixer
a few guitars
Marshall amp

Is there something fundamental or helpful that i still need? How do i go about this?

What advice can you give me?

Thanks

Okay, but would it be for vocals or something else like micing the guitar? Coz i only want to get the music going before i will start looking at vocals.

You can record your guitar direct if you don't have a mic, but depending on the style of music/sound you're looking for, you probably won't be as happy with the results - certainly good enough for scratch tracks/writing ideas though.
The big thing for you to know is that Reason does not record audio so you'll need a separate application for this. You can buy something like ProTools, Sonar or Cubase (which you can actually use to control Reason via ReWire), or if you don't want to spend the $, you can download http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ for free to record your audio.
Good luck!
