Non-powered speakers to PC?

My current puter (HP Pavillion 7935), less than a year old, came with unpowered speakers.
 
The bottom line is, you will not be able to mix accurately on any system that uses a PC soundcard amp and Bose speakers.

I will definitely be getting adequate monitor speakers as soon as the budget allows. Just hoping to cut a few corners while i'm getting the system in place. Thanks to everybody for the input.I'm also open to suggestions for a decent entry level set of monitors that can be hooked up to a PC, that will provide proper sound for mixing - without breaking the budget. Thanks again.
