I have a Behringer Xenyx 2222FX hooked up to my computer. It came with a converter to hook it up to the USB, which is a Behringer U-Control UCA200. I hooked it up, and this weird, pulsing hum kept making its way out the speakers. I figured the converter was cheap and interchanged it for a Lexicon Alpha USB interface I had, and just connected the mixer's main outs to that. Now when I record, the same hum persists, only not pulsing--just a straight hum. I'm not sure whether it's the board or the cables or whatever. Any ideas?

Hi,

My guess is an earth loop via the USB cable, I have found this problem to be increasing in newer gear. Lap tops seem to be the worst as they have now added mains earths to laptop power supplies.
