Noise removal

I'm having trouble working out how to clean up the beginning of a song, ie. removing count-ins, coughs, amp noise etc before the song actually begins.

I'm using the TASCAM DP-02.

Any help appreciated.

If you were on software it would be very easy - just cut the front off. Are there any export options that allow you to decide where the start and end of the track are? I.e. if your recording is 4 minute 52 seconds, only write the last 4 minutes and 43 seconds to CD?

Why can't you just ERASE the first few seconds of the song from those tracks???? This is so obvious that I can' t help but think I'm missing something here.

Nope, I'm a complete beginner and the instructions are far from clear. I'll look into the erasing thing.

No problem there, I didn't mean to be condescending. It should be a very simple function but I'm not familiar with the DP-02, so I don't want to steer you wrong with the wrong advice.

Most TASCAM stuff works with IN and OUT points. Usually, it should be a matter of setting the IN point at the beginning of where you want to erase, and the OUT point at the end of what you want to erase. In case I'm wrong, we're better off waiting until someone that owns a DP-02 to chime in.

- If the trouble like you said above...easiest way just go to "Generate -->Silence...", with audacity
- More advance... you can use Izotope RX3 (iZotope RX 3 | OVERVIEW)
