**WARNING**

Was heard on my $12 computer monitors.......Sorry I cant transfer it to something more decent.....

Sonicly it sounds good and the mix is done well..... but again $12 speakers dont tell you all that much.....

I like the openess the lean arrangment and skimpy guitar playing but I think it needs to be a bit more creative and daring.

I think her singing can be a bit more polished here and there, but it is far from horiffying !!!!

The bass line....well as you said its a scratch....

The drums - here I have to agree with Emeric. MHO is that they arent in the pocket. The beat is on time but the groove doesnt feel right. In some places it actully feels like a mistake. The snare and kick might fall in the right place but the inside part of the groove (the subdivisions) sound sometimes off. Listen to 00:36-00:40. From 00:40 it wavers sometimes swingy sometimes straight till about 00:58 and again 03:25-03:38 as an example.
Perhaps its intentional ? If it is I personaly dont like it.
 
The drums are played in a completely intentional pocket, including subtle changes, and "held back" slow rolls. There is a loop going under the drums, which I masked in this pre-mix (as a result of the loop, the timing had to be, and is, perfect, but the feel changes)
the arrangement / openness is also intentional.
 
I normally don't bother to comment on the 'pro' stuff, but I can't resist this time..

She is pretty sweet looking..


The sound itself is good, but the drums are off.. I really would like to see it 'lined up' as you say.. I do not believe it is in perfect time.. If it was, it would sound the same all the way through, and not fluctuate in spots.. It most certainly does waver though.. If you can prove me wrong, please do.. I know you said you have 'nothing to prove', if so, then you have proved that your production skills are not the best..

People like you and the 'Long Wave Studio' guy make me laugh.. Both of you guys post like there is so much to learn from your stuff.. The sound is almost always good though..


If I had half the resources you guys have, I would put you both out of business.. I would never have used such a crappy synth bass sound.. not even for a scratch.. This sounds like one of those 'General Midi' synth bass patches, and it reflects bad on the producer IMHOP..


I used synth bass on my last tune, maybe you should give it a listen..

Here let me explain it to you so you'll understand....

As u joined much later then me (to the bbs) ,you missed a few replys of mine to the clinic. I also posted a few songs as in "you dish out? pay your dues as well....."
Having a dail up, and no way to transfer it to my home monitors, I rarely DL songs from technical reasons. With my server it takes me about an hour to get a single song and with my computer monitors I wouldnt benefit them.

I STILL make the effort to DL problematic issues and have offered so many a times. When a member asked me to help with his drum problems I went through 4 months of daily receiving emails were he sent me via email "wav" files the size of 10 mb daily to help him out. I started instead a series of articles WITH audio samples (go read them you might learn something...) and found it to be more helpfull take all the time and effort you put in the clinic and double it and perhaps you will come to the time and effort I spent on those articles (and again thank you Emeric for your time as well !). I have been emailed quite a few times with files and helped out to my ability even if it meant 15 emails to a single person to aid him.
I started a drum mixing clinic for the members here and we went thorough a short stage and it will continue were they can DL 8 tracks of a drum groove unprocessed and I will be show them through the process as time allows me. I didnt and don't ask for anything in return other then, they enjoy it.I have never had the need to display this so I can get your stamp of approval. I do it in the privacy of my home email.

If you post the crap you do....then I would suggest you take a holiday....

All this for what.....so it seems you have a chip on your shoulder something against a member or two ( I also remember a thread were you decided your not going to DL from this guy or that guy.....).
Is it worth it for you to get personal in such a cheap way?

Do you have a closeup on this one? How can you tell this really is the male version? I just don't get it. Can't figure it out. How are those wings attached to the body? What's that arm doing there? I really cannot tell the anatomical structure of that -thing- you got there... You got a bigger picture? Starring at that avatar for 10 minutes trying to figure it out gave me a headache.
