I recently picked up the Xotic EP Booster. I immediately understood while people refer to it as the "always-on" pedal. I was skeptical at first. I've got more pedals and toys than I know what to do with - all kinds of great tone generating gizmos. I'd read about this thing here and there over the years but wasn't buying the hype. But - as I do from time to time - I noticed the bonus bucks on my credit card had built up - which is often an excuse to buy some godammed thing. So yeah - I sprung for one of these and it's absolutely true. I find myself leaving it on all the time now. In front of *everything*. Sounds great in front of my tube amps set clean or cranked for crunch. But I'm using the Strymon Iridium almost exclusively now - and it sounds great in front of that too. Again - whether set for clean tones, mild overdrive, or full on crunch tones. I leave this thing on.
It's probably *a little* overpriced for it's simple circuit. But at this station in life I don't sweat $130.
Anyway - there you have it. One guy's opinion.
