Hi there ... I have been watching the forum for several months and as a newbie I have picked up loads of tips ...so thanks ,but IM still very new to this.....but there is so much to take on board.....

I have a DPS12i ....i recorded the basics ,Drums , Guitar ,bass. and I now want to use my EMu 5000 ULTRA SAMPLER .....I want to know how to sync the clocks DPS and EMu ? any help would be great ......

Killer of a first question to post, couldn't you start with something easier?

OOPS .....................but Im stuck ....... I have an Idea in my head and would like to have a hammond organ on the song ......as I am not a keyboard player of skill.....I have made a sample but I cant put it in the right place .....as I said any advise would be greatly received........

First, plug the stereo audio outs of the Emu to inputs 1 + 2 of the DPS12i.

Load the sample you want to use into the Emu, then record it onto two spare tracks of the DPS12i.

Now that you have a digitized version of the sound / part you want, use the editing functions on the DPS to trim and copy the sample to the correct location in your song. If you want to use it more than once in the same song just select a different location and repeat the copy and paste process.

There are many ways to skin a cat, and this is just one of them that will surely work as a quick fix.

If you are going to use these two devices as a permanent team you need to find a way to clock the Emu from the Akai either directly or with the addition of an external sequencer.

thanks for that .............

as you said "there are many ways to skin a cat "
