You know, I kind of liked it. It wasn't as bad as some of these other heads said.
It's maybe not the best recording, but definitely not the worst. I liked it, for one.
Cheesy, as much as it seems people are kicking the mickey out of you, I'll have to say that many of the bbs members here are indeed talented, sometimes with some awesome, awe inspiring songs and recordings. It's just a kneejerk reaction to say, [para], "well, you're all a bunch or righteous bastards, I suppose you're all so multitalented...", but there's real talent on these boards, despite the generally unfavorable review you've gotten. Most people would not say something sucked unless they had some sort of redeeming advice to give you on the turnaround, but I cannot speak for everyone, only myself.
I thought the recorded clip was very decent for a first effort.

Hang in there, dude. Your recordings will improve, and no doubt, some people here can come across a bit direct, and even may take some delight in telling you that you suck, maybe for sound reasons, and other times maybe not.
There's a give & take on these board that goes on. You'll notice, if you've been here long enough. Maybe someday you'll have the chance to tell some other Newbie he sucks. Ha, just kidding about that.
Hey, people have told me I suck, and it's all another normal day on the internet. Expose yourself to the world on the internet, and you're bound to find someone who says you suck. Don't take it too personally.
Your composition shows real imagination. The vocal intro part to me is almost reminiscent of Jethro Tull's "A Passion Play", which has several sections of spoken monolog. When the music commences, is just seems like a fun little jingle, almost with a SGT-PEPPER/She's Leaving Home/Penny-Lane feel to it. The strings remind me a bit of the intro to "She's Leaving Home", or [The White Album's "Goodnight" song], and the high trumpet part sort of reminds me of "Penny Lane". That's more in impression of sounds, than in actual overall composition, but the likeness is there.
I wouldn't say it sucked. Not at all. It's different, though.
