I have a soundblaster live Plat. I plug a guitar into omni
on input 1
i have the gain at half and the monitor at half ,,,i cant hear
anything coming out of my speakers on the soundblaster
it shows signal in h/w 1 and i see signal in master volume
on monitor mixer ,,,,,,but no sound .....i have no recording
software open at this time .......any ideas , im sure im doing something stupid ......but ill endure the ebarasement gladly
to be able to record on my pc .....wooooo hooooo

Thanks id advance

We need more info... how do you have things wired up? Where are the outputs of the OMNI and the SB going?

Also, check your Windows mixer. Make sure playback is not muted - stuff like that.

simple setup

Ive got my guitar into input 1 on the omni box,
and just the 15 pin dsub connector on the back connected
to the delta 66. Now shouldnt i be able to hear thru my
SB Live plat the transmitted signal ??????

The audio monitor control panel shows signal .
Im using win 2000.???

Thanks in advance

There has to be something connected to the SB Live for you to get anything out of it. You cannot cause the audio stream on the Delta card to flow into the SB Live in any way other than a direct connection. If your instrument signal is going into the Delta, you can only monitor it back out the Delta.

Of course you can record through one card and then afterwards, direct the recorded output to the other...

But if you are using the SB Live for its MIDI synth, you really need to be able to hear the output of both cards together. The solution is an external mixer that combines the outputs of both cards into a stereo output to drive your speakers. It might be possible to route the SB into the OMNI in some way that it will get you the same results, but I'm not familiar enough with the details of the OMNI's features and connectivity to know.

Thanks Budy

Thanks Buddy , the big picture is starting to take
shape as i delve more into this , and your absolutely
right in your response. I appreciate the feedback
and your insight. Im sure i will have more stupid questions
as I go along. :-) I say that cause in hindsight after playing
around with this little rascal i was asking the obvious.

hehe Im sneaking hiding it from the wife , cause she dont know
i bought this.......any married people out there who can relate
to this ;-)

Thanks again
