as i just started.. do i need to know any tempo, beats, timing theory? or simply i could just play to a metronome and starts playing? i do not know things like BPM.. any idea where could i learn it online?
and what are mastering and mixing? adding effects? what if the timing of the bass guitar does not in time with the guitar.. is the programme able to slow it down or make it faster? or to re record the whole bass track?
i think your best bet if you have a pc is just to try some multitrack software to get a "feel" for the whole process. try what i use. demo powertracks from pgmusic.com.
youll learn a lot just by reading the ptpa help file. after trying it if you have q's just ask. everything is covered includimg recording, mixing, effects, bpm, midi etc etc. just get to it !
peace.

Yep just play to the metronome. There's no big mystery or theory to timing or tempo. Just set the bpm under 80 if you want slow, over 120 if you want quick, and stay in time
