I have 8 drum tracks (all started together at zero) and I need to burn them to a cd for a friend so he can track guitars in Protools v.7. I've looked through the forum and most people agree that the way to go is to "mix" the tracks down to .wav files. Is this the same as just converting the file type, or is there actually mixing involved? My cubase knowlege is minimal. We used this program because a friend had a firepod and we needed 8 tracks for drums. THANKS!

If they all start at the same time, I wouldn't mix them, just manually pull them out of the audio folder (drag and drop them) into Nero and burn them to cd. Then Import then into protools.

You can also export the project as an OMF file and open that in protools I believe....
