newbie OH mic question

Hello all..I'm soooo glad I stumbled on to this forum. There has been a plethera of great info.

I'm on a real tight budget and I'm micing drums for the first time.
I have an SM58a i was thinking about using for the bass drum, and i've got an AKGC1000 i was thinking about using as an OH.

Should I buy another c1000 to use as the other OH, or should I consider getting mxl 993 stereo pair & maybe use the c1000 on the snare?

Any helpful hints would be appreciated.

BTW im recording into yamaha mg10 then coming stereo r & L into digi 001.

If you're on a tight budget sell the C1000s you have now and buy 2 MXL603's ($200) for overheads and a SM57 for the snare ($80).

I owned a C1000s for years and recently sold it for a pair of MXL603's; there's a big difference. The C1000s has a nasty brittle high end that's very difficult to work with. The MXL603 is much more smooth and lower cost.
