Ok, I really feel silly asking this, so please keep in mind that I'm an absolute newbie in cubase.
When I want to record a window pops up telling me to 'Record Enable The Selected Track'. In the Inspector I cannot just click on the Enable button. Only when I click on 'Record Info' and type something there, the enable button lights up. However I still can't record because now I have to select a destination folder for this recording, but no matter what folder I choose, this window keeps popping up. I've never used cubase before but I'm really anxious to start recording. Please help me out here...

First off, what are you recording. MIDI or a real instrument, guitar direct, miced vocals etc.?

The inspector is for midi.

What's the rest of your setup, more info needed.

Emeric, the inspector is for both midi and audio recording, depending on what type of track you are recording to.

Laynestaley, you have to be on an audio track, bring up the
inspector, hit the record enable button, and when it asks you
for a destination folder - create a new folder- name it the name
of your song for example- set your left and right locators then
hit the record button....it's all covered in the "Getting started"
manual that came with Cubase....it makes a good read!!

Hope that helps!

Really? Didn't know that, when ever I looked at that feature it seemed like it was only midi related. Most functions I found could be accesed through the mixer view and arrange view, and system drop down menu.

The quick start guide should help you out as man@work suggests.
