what kind of suggestions are you looking for? changing your layout?
use the bathroom for your vocal booth
move your mix desk into the big room
can you drum in the laundry room?
you need some acoustic control in at least your mixdown room

I don't know really what to suggest ... you probably have some limitations that force you to have the layout the way it is now, right?

studio

the laundry room has no room 4 the drums and iv done some vocal recording in the bathroom.. pretty good...
i cant really move/change much but i am looking for some ideas.. in general about the room

Two things I noticed:

on the Equipment page, you say "allot of software..." this should be "alot."

and the maker of Sound Forge is Sonic Foundry, not Foundary

I know, you were asking for tips on setup of the equipment... :)

Tip 1:

Take out the TV set from the recording area... don't distract the drummers! lol

Peace...

Actually, AlChuck its "a lot" not "alot". They are 2 separate words. If your going to be a such prick about things it would be a good idea in the future to at least know what your talking about.

Gotta love you newbies that hop on and mouth off before you even know how things work around here..

AlChuck was just trying to offer some help with the webpage... I have people tell me all the time about mistakes on my webpage...

Im thankful that they took the time to tell me... There is nothing "Pricky" about ALChucks post...

However ther is a definate "prick" overtone to yours...

If your gonna be silly, go to another site, or at least to the Dragon Cave... if your gonna be serious, then stay and chat...

I think that sums it up..

Oh, and be nice... As a newbie, you come across as an arrogant asshole... If you want to participate with favourable reaction try and be a little less anal..

ALChuck was just offereng help..

Good Day to you :)

Young Techy, such a wee lad ;). Are there any particular problems you need to overcome?

I could see how having the drums 5ft away might be a problem but the only way to help that is with some physical seperation. Look for old office cubicle dividers. They are good for sound baffles.

You know Young techie reminds me of me when I was a kid.... So cool..

Most kids his age are immersed in gameboy...

Good stuff... Keep learning...

mrbigputts,

You got me. I have seen it written informally as "alot" so often I assumed it was correct. A quick dictionary search proved me wrong indeed.

Since you think I'm a prick I can't do any worse so I might as well point out that you when you wrote "If your going to be a such prick..." and "...at least know what your talking about," you are using the possessive your, where by the context of your usage you obviously mean the contraction you're, the contraction of "you are."

You also wrote "Actually, AlChuck its 'a lot' not 'alot'," you used its, the possessive, instead of it's, the contraction of "it is." But hey, it's a common error, you see it in print ads all the time. One of my pet peeves that makes me peevish and causes me to therefore act like a prick.

You also left out a few commas, but now I'm really getting pricky -- uh, picky....

Man.. Im gonna watch my posting now... you guys are pretty stingy on grammar.... :D

THE ROOM

WHEN I RECORD I USE HEADPHONES INSTEAD OF MY MONITORS, I USE THE MONITORS FOR MIXDOWN AND MASTERING..

I AM GLAD 2 SEE I AM BEING HEARD IN HERE
I FEEL HONORED THAT U OLD TIMERS RESPECT A YOUNG WIPPER SNAPPER LIKE ME (*TEAR* LOL)

Prentice-Hall makes a fairly good Handbook for Writers. ISBN 13-695718-8, if anyone really gives a shit.

... oh no, now the CAPS LOCK THING... AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH... (slaps forehead)
