Newbie Logic Pro question.

Hi all, I have moved from Sonar to Logic Pro x. Its probably something very simple I'm missing but when I record my guitar part or vocal part all is see is a straight line on the track. Not a wave. I get the recording, but can't see it. Is there a setting or something I need to set up in the track before recording? Thanks for the help.

So it's playing the recording back though, yeah?
Are you zoomed out really far?
