First of all, Happy Holidays everyone!

This question is directly related to what I found under the xmas tree this morning :)

I'm looking for a program that will let me make loops and beats (like Fruity Loops) with my new MIDI keyboard that will also let me record my drumset, guitars, etc. with my external hardware (like Cubase). I don't know much, or really, anything at all about loop/beat software, and I just want to integrate my home recordings with something like fruity loops.

Thanks!

Why not look into one of the "lite" versions of Cubase. But for the record... you can make the loops you want but it may have a bit more of a learning curve than many of the programs out there specifically design for loop creation.

Why not just get Fruity Loops???

The current Studio version (uhh, $99-$150???) will record MIDI and audio...

I know a couple of people who recorded their entire CDs with Fruity.

ahh, good to know. It's been a while since I've used it. Does it all have the basic features of a DAW (able to multitrack w/ a signifiicant amount of tracks, plugins, compressors, etc.) Also, what about Logic Express? I read that it can produce loops, but i'm not entirely sure if it's the same as fruity loops. I have a mac now, and i'm not sure if fruity loops works on it. Thanks

Ooooppss... No, Fruity is PC-only! (You have to be more specific in your posts.)

I own both platforms and wish they would make a Mac version, but they are very anti-Mac over there at Fruity....

Go over to www.hitsquad.com and start looking through the lists of sequencers over there... they have a Mac section.
