Hi, im a newb looking for advice before a i buy a tascam portastudio. Can anyone please help. Ive come across conflicting info and would like advice. 1st, is there a difference in audio quality between the 008ex, the 03sd, and the 24sd on mixdown/mastering. 2nd, can i import a stereo file with panning info on it, into the dp008ex. I read that you cant because it only has mono tracks/channels. I know that the dp03sd will auto create a stereo pair of tracks when you import a stereo file. 3rd, if i import a stereo file with panning on it,into the 24sd and drop it onto a stereo track, eg- 13/14 or 15/16 etc, am i right to think that it will retain the panned info from the original stereo file because those stereo tracks/channels are automatically panned hard left and right. i would expect this to be true if I were bouncing tracks, too. My prime aim is to import lots of files that i have edited, from my DAW, into the tascam and mix/master through moniters ,before exporting back to my DAW for burning to disc. The 24sd would be the obvious choice, but i havnt ruled out the other two models yet. Thanks, I look forward to any replies.
