Newb:Digi 001 + Control desks?

Hey folks,
Newbie to recording here, I was wondering if there are any non Digidesign control desks you can use with the Digi 001?

I think a HUI or anything that has a HUI emulation mode will work. I'd guess most of the MIDI controllers out there will work, and I bet you could even use a keyboard controller or Phatboy, etc. in a pinch.
