Soopafly mikes situation inspired the lyrics, I had to put it on paper.

Listen through to the 2nd verse if you can, theres a pretty cool singing/rapping part at the end of the verse, and the raps are a bit better.

Also, check out www.mp3.com/stations/soleternity - 30 older beats of mine reorganized to clear room on my site, and for you emcees - for sale at $100-$150, a freakin bargain!

Thanks for checking out my song and beats. Leave links.

Save The Day

[Match box rattles, lights match] Shit.. Its hard dealing with life sometimes, and I don’t have a lot of faith in anything anymore; but I wrote this song out of hope. So here goes, save the day.

So I write it right, until we get it done right now, sunset to daybreak,
I glance off into my eternal sun of gold, I hold our souls.
Eyes of tears, Erase my fears at night and pain,
I’ll save the day, Save our days, Save the day always, No more shame.

Time, the measurement of my life, freezes my lies,
Illuminates my truth and gives death a clever disguise.
I wonder if there’s a place for me,
nothing left to believe in.
If I can’t be with you,
Then there’s no point in breathing.
Now I’m seeing the lines, I used to only see in between,
Without a heart, my body can’t get the love that it needs.
You took a piece of mine when you passed,
I’m to afraid to ask for it back, when I get there I’ll be complete at last.
I wanna share Eternity, whether that’s me, or us in time.
I bled, shed tears, loved you all the time..
So I gotta take advantage and let you know for real,
Metaphysical or just not breathing I’ll persevere.
I wanna reach out and grab your hand for the last time,
I wanna know that you’re still there,
I want something to believe in, give me faith.
I’ll save these days.

So I write it right, until we get it done right now, sunset to daybreak,
I glance off into my eternal sun of gold, I hold our souls.
Eyes of tears, Erase my fears at night and pain,
I’ll save the day, Save our days, Save the day always, No more shame.

Sometimes I can’t help but crying, I hope my tears sooth the wound.
But if they can’t, then I can, and if they aren’t, then I am.
If I could, I would, reach out for you, shout to you..
I’ll save the day. And hope if I pray I’ll have a foundation one day.
So yo, You wanna talk love, I’ll tell you right now,
all the life’s sucked outta me, ’cause its hard to see,
Inside the skin of a human, what makes it shine,
I scream out loud, why,
Lets save these days.
This is my souls ballad speaking, this is my soul, and its weeping.
You left with my love, as I cry out, ride out, tire out, take things easy .
Escape the day my visions is sacred,
Its beyond my control my mental hates it, while I relate it.
‘Cause it don’t matter if you can feel me,
Life, we hold it dearly.
And when we all pass on,
Life goes on.
‘Cause when we all pass on.
Life Goes on.
Save the Day.

So I write it right, until we get it done right now, sunset to daybreak,
I glance off into my eternal sun of gold, I hold our souls.
Eyes of tears, Erase my fears at night and pain,
I’ll save the day, Save our days, Save the day always, No more shame.

Nice work Mr. Sol.

The production sounds good from what I can tell with headphones (at work ;)). Not my style, but I like the song, especially the lyrics. I really like that sort of vocoder sound which comes in at 3:56 and 4:09 - very nice.

I don't know a lot about hip hop, but the vocals seem like they have a bit of a Bone Thugs N Harmony feel to them. Am I right?

What up Sol?

I peeped that song and was feeling it. I was getting that same Bone vibe a little to. Can't really even say why though. Maybe you just using some similar equipment as some of those producers or something. Shit was good but just had a little more of a typa mellow vibe than I usually fuck with.

Peeped some of the tracks and some of those joints are bangers dog. For the 150? Damn... Why wasn't niggas putting licks like that up when I first started droppin? I wish I could cop a few of those and do a quick street project. With some of them shits i'd fuck up half the shit in a record stores right now. Damn if I was just a rap cat right now. You pushing em as stereo wave files or what?

Peace to ya. Keep doing it doc.

Hey sol Lazi and anybody else with constructive comments check out my new creation entitled Badazz

Like that cut to Sol...niiiiceeee

I'll check out your post soundboy.

Thanks for the love guys.

Soundboy - Nice beat man, I liked the drums except the snare. Cool samples/progression, nice beat. I like the shakers and how they go wild.. Nice..

your production level is really high. Im still confused exactly how vocals for hip hop need to be processed to sound IN the song, ya know? Like eqing and overdubbing and all that crap. I have a good idea, but i haven't recorded anything in a really long time so i haven't tested any of my new knowledge.

yea i was getting a bone thugs feeling from that, then i saw some other peeps mentioned it.

Yea i actually liked that one. Not usually the style i go for, im more gritty underground, but you have some talent. I haven't gotten very good at rapping because i NEVER do it, im just not motivated. I really want to take singing lessons though. I just live in a bad area, no real hip hop, its hard to explain but its a styfling environment for that kind of thing.

But anyways, especially nice production quality. It doesn't sound sampled.. am i wrong?

Yo, heres the thread I was talking about - https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?threadid=65722

I forgot to make it before hahahaha..

Thanks for replying. No, theres no samples, and I'm in the same kind of environment as you. No real hip hop. Thats why I love the 'net.

Sol,

Tight, tight, tight lyrics, thanks for posting them. I read the lyrics earlier in the week but I wanted to listen before I commented. These are very introspective lyrics and definitely deep, my favorite type regardless of genre. A lot of your lines are very potent and I think alot of people will be able to relate to what you're saying. Your flow is tight on this, I'm getting the Bone vibe as well.

The track. What can I say, this is a banger. I think I've heard it before. Did you post the track separately a while ago? Very tight piano line and the bass and drums support it well.

I would buy this CD without a doubt.
