Hi all,
I am really new to using CEP.
I use CEP for the following: Take a 120 minute long .mp3 file and cut it into 2 x 60 minute .mp3 files.
I then use Nero to burn each .mp3 to a .cda format on cd.
The cd is then put into my cars Pioneer AVIC-HD3BT which reads the cd and rips it in its own format to the AVIC's hard drive.
The AVIC will only rip .cda format tracks from a CD (it will play .cda files off a DVD but it will not rip a DVD to its hard drive), hence my need to cut the large 2 hour long .mp3 file in half.
Hopefully the above makes sense :)
So, after doing the above I then have 60 minute long single tracks on my AVIC. To skip forward (say 20 minutes) I have to use the fast forward function on the AVIC and wait while the unit zooms through 20 minutes of music. If I hit the next track it skips to the next 60 minute track which is not what I want.
What I want to do is mark/tag (not sure of the proper lingo) the .mp3 with CEP so that every 5 minutes I have a marker which I can easily jump to as opposed to just using the fast forward function on the AVIC.
I really hope this all makes sense and I can get some help with using CEP to fulfill my requirement.
Cheers,
Geoff.

Hi....
the 'add cue' function may help you with this....
but geeeesh, you appear to be working very hard with what you're doing!!
Anyways,
Cheers,:)
Spit.

Got it sorted.
I am using .cue files and burning to a cd using nero. I still have to cut the 2 hour long .mp3 into sub 74 minute chunks using Cool Edit Pro, but after that the .cue file breaks the .mp3 into an ordinary style multi track cd which the AVIC rips perfectly. The .cue file gives the AVIC the album, song titles, song artists, the lot.
Really happy with this solution, just took a bit of research on google (and here) to find that solution.
