Hello! So I am a complete newbie here. I need to record my vocals and I want the result as professional sounding as possible (of course). What techniques for recording my vocals do I need to know? What do I do to them after I've recorded them to make it sound less like I'm an amateur just recording myself at home?
I'm using a SM58 Shure microphone, an M-audio Fast Track Pro preamp, and a desktop PC. Right now I'm just playing around with Audacity but I'm planning to eventually get Sonar or Pro-Tools.
Maybe someone can list the basic things I need to know or give me a link to an article? Thank you so much guys!!
