Hey guys,

This is an original track that I've been working on for a while. I only started recording/mixing a few months ago, and with all I've read, this is where I stand.

The drums aren't up to par with the pros by any means; all recorded through a mixer onto one mono track (I can't record multiple inputs with my current interface).

Guitars and bass were done DI and I used plugins for the distortion, etc.

Any tips you could give on how to make it sound a bit better?

Unfortunately, you've honestly done about all you can with your given tools. There's just only so much you can do with all of your drums on one mono track like that. Just wanted to say that I enjoyed it. Even though the recording quality of the drums was lacking, the performance had great energy and consistency.

you need a different kick mic, it's not got anywhere near enough low end and is pretty weedy as a result.
If you can find a way to get the drums into stereo next time, that will reeeeally help open the mix up a lot!
