New to Cubase

Hi guys ive watched quite a few tutorials and been learning and know the basics on Cubase. But I havent really seen any sites for VSTs or plug ins for free and also many for mastering/editing for rap vocals.
Can anyone recommend me any sites or instructions?
I also wanted to know if anyone could help tell me if i post a song how the effect was done and if it is possible to do it on Cubase?

Post the song and I'll let you know. And KVRaudio.com is a good place to look for free plugs, however if cubase starts to fuck up on you it's usually because of a shoddy plug in so just keep that in mind.
 
Aaah right I see well I got Cubase 5 now am using. And okay the song is:

I want to know what the effects are for this song for all below and if they are possible to re-create on Cubase and if so how:
(1) and 0:16 seconds of the song he says 'I got em singing like' and it has a really low kinda echo behind it if you hear it and listen carefully.
(2)and 0:33 seconds he says 'Or in a haters damn face' and it kinda does that mixdown effect on his voice.
(3) and 0:55 he says 'you feel that hook coming then' and at 0:56 seconds theyre liks a D-D-D-D effect if you listen carefully.

Aaah right damn I really wanted to know how he did number 3 as well. How did he do that effect with vocoder??
 
Yer gonna want this for vocals and master out too. Stock Cubase compressors leave much to be desired.
 
Wicked thanks. Can I ask for rap vocals ive been searching and searching for tutorials on mastering, compression and eqing but I cant find any anywhere is there any you can recommend to me? I'm using Cubase 5. (I'm poor) lOl. let me know :) and thanks JImmy. Also is it all those vocoders on that page or just 1 specifically?
 
Vocals are vocals really. There is no specific method for any style. Try each one. They will all give different effects. Part of the fun of recording is coming up with your own thing. :)
 
I believe the 3rd effect is called glitching and theres a free plugin at kvr if thats what the name of the plugin site is.

:) :) I will sadly my stupid toshiba laptop has decided the charger wants to stop working..
 
KVRaudio.com hast some free plug in's but some of them are not that well made and may cause issues so only use the 'trusted' ones.
