It's interesting that you bring these up. Lately I've been seeing these around a lot at some pretty respectable places...not as the main monitors, but as a good reference for what the mix would sound like on a home stereo setup or small speakers.
I was just at a very respected local mastering lab, and these were the third set of reference monitors (nearfield)...the others were setup midfield and were Dynaudios and Wagners.
A good producer/mixer here in town as a set at his place as well that he A/Bs with his Genelecs.
They actually didn't sound too bad nearfield in a good room. The bass was definitely exaggerated to compensate for the small box, but they definitely suprised me.
