Hey FAM. I just finished a goal I had. We set up a mobile studio in a truck to record live events and such. It's been 3 years in the making and now it's here.

What do you guys think? Any pointers or tips you see? We have to get everything insured cause after all it is a truck... :o

What kind of truck? What exactly are you planning yo do with this setup? I'm curious.

You know those conversion vans? We took out everything inside and redid it. And we do like concert and event recording. Full 24 tracks... That's what we gonna do... Anyone ever do this. Any tips?

that's tight man, that's one of my goals too. Just not a priority lol. I've used a mobile studio before a few times too. This is the one we use:

It's in the attachments

Here's some of the spec's of what we got in it..

Console:
Soundcraft TS-24 (Vintage Analog)

Monitors/Speakers:
URIE 813 B's
Yamaha NS-10s
Genelec 1030A

Tape Machines:
Otari RADAR 24TRK Direct to Disk
Tascam DA-88 Digital Tape (48 TRKS)

There's mad outboard gear, I can't remember them all.

Oh ya you right. We are gonna put an alarm and better locks. Also we found a parking lot with 24 hour security for $150 a month...

Yep. I just got the steering wheel lock and the break lock and all that. Plus, we bulted all the racks and gear in so you really have to work at it to take something.

Thanks for the ideas everyone.

Tight work man. Wish I lived near you so I could get some tracks lased up in there.
:)

it's not a regular truck, it's like the size of a midsized U-Haul truck.

man, but I like yours though. That's some style. I mean, I would expect a multi-million dollar studio that has a recording truck, to be real nice. But to take something like that, and it be that nice, is talent. Great work dogg. Cant' wait until I tear down a truck & do that.

Thanks man. That's what I like to do. Make something out of nothing. I showed some artists the studio. First they walk up to a regular truck. Nothing flashy... And then you hear, "Damn...". It's clean and everything you need in a studio is there. And if I went to guitar center I would have spent big $$$$$$$. But, I'm real good on finding deals and products on Ebay and such. Like the mixer would have cost $3000 new.

I liked the fact that some big artists go on tour in a big bus with a studio in it. So, I got to thinking to make something like that.

Now all I need is an X-Box... :D

Ya, that's good info. I feel the more stuff you got, linke locks, alarms and gps tracking, the harder it is. But, ya we gonna get all that installed. ;)

he's got a DM2000 in there? I think that's my favorite console for some reason. not bad though.
