New SP mics

Anyone seen the new V2 Studio Projects mics? The only one I've seen was the C1V2 which I'm assuming just means the second version. I noticed it's about 40 bucks more expensive but it does look a bit sexier than it did before.
 
Yeah, I noticed them 2 days ago. They do look much better. They have a sleeker look.
 
Do they ever update the website? Because all I see there are the same old B and C series mics.

i got an email about this the other day. old mics are marked down (b1s for $80, c4s for something like $225, etc). i guess i signed up for their email list or something.
 
Are studio projects mics as good as their preamps? I want to get a condenser mic and I was going to get the AKG perception 200 large diaphragm but would the SP B1 be a better deal since its marked down

I kinda liked the look of the older ones better.

And you'd think if they were going to change the looks of something, they would've worked on the vtb-1 first. :confused:

nah...VTB1 is so ugly its cool... we like it the way it is... :)
 
Hi Alan,

Would it be fair to characterize the new mics as having a less shrill
high end?
And, is it true that the new version of the vtb1 pre-amp has been put
on hold because you have changed designers? If so, when do you
think we might see it?

Well, I guess you should know better than I

what your target market is.

It just seems so Radio Shack project box-ish to me. But if that's part of the mojo, hey, who am I to say?

I still like the previous look for the mics, but I guess I'm in the minority. Oh, well, I'm used to it.

So what are the 'improved electronics'?

Hopefully, they come with the "Dorsey Mod" off the shelf.

The don't look any sleeker to me. They look basically the same only with a new badge.
