Recorded this song using Reaper. I have an Edirol 2 input interface and an SE electronics Condenser mic.
The song is mainly an acoustic song but has some electric guitar in it, it has a steel string acoustic, a nylon acoustic, percussion but no bass.

Would appreciate any feedback.

We made a video for it which you can see below, I have also included an MP3 only link if you prefer

Good clean recording, nicely played. The song was appealling. Video was fine, although the bits of blood seemed unnecessary and a bit gimmicky.

I thought this was really good. reminded me a little of Kings of Leon (that's just an observation, not a criticism). The video was simple and effective, added to the song and didn't detract from it. I really did like it, I would definitley listen to this. Don't change anything.

I almost wish there was something about it I didn't like so I could offer you some useful feedback, but there wasn't.

The recording is very well done. The video definitely adds to the song; I like the shots a lot. :)

The only thing about the recording I might have changed was some of the panning. I felt like it was bit much in my headphones at times, but this could just be a matter of preference.

Overall, very very good song, excellent recording, top-notch video! Well done!

but no bass.

I really liked it, great recording.

It would hold my interest better with a bass.... right at about 1min it felt like there was a hole, then I realized I was expecting to hear bass.

I thought the video was cool too, but a few added scenes from a different Location would keep my interest better.

Overall I thought it was a great job!

I didnt miss the bass, it's an acoustic song... There's a left guitar that sounds kinda loud in my headphones. I'd put it a little more center or turn it down. It's a lead-ish part so I'd try it panned less 1st. Because it is so loud, it makes the mix unbalanced, just for those parts where that L guitar kicks in. Otherwise the guitar mix sounds really good. Vox are good. There was one spot in the video where the lip syncing looked obvious - the singer was really belting it out, and in the video he was just lounging against a tree, it looked too effortless. Minor stuff, the song sounds great, nice one!

I believe what suprstar pointed out about the panning was exactly what I was thinking in my previous comment. I agree that moving it more center would be better.

I thought the guitars (electric and acoustic) and vocals sounded real good. Good singing.

Is that a snare hitting the backbeat? Whatever it was, I thought, too far back in the mix. You could bring that way.

To me a song like this is "big enough" to need a low end. In my opinion it needs a bass.

Very nice!
I couldn't piont to anything that other guys didn't already do regarding to the mix.
The vid was almost perfect. Everythnig but water was just perfect.
I couldn't concentrate to the all good shots because I was focused to the water shot.
I really wanted to go in there and make it move. So many moving details, trees, leaves, reflections in the window, fire etc. and water was just a boring picture.
Maybe it was not supposed to be water, I don't know.

keep them coming

thanks for comments guys.. all noted :) the snare is a very tight bongo! :) quite interested in going back to mix again, if i can get motivated!! Thanks again
