Hi Ho, Kermit D Frog here...

Oh sorry...

I'm working on an acoustic song-gone-mad and I think it's at the point where it could use some fresh ears. I struggled a bit with the vocal performance early this morning so I may go back and retrack some of it. But the ideas are there and I think they might be ready for some mixing/composition advice. Thanks!

Damn, sorry about the double post! I'm bowing my head in shame...

you've got a nice stereo sound on the acoustic. ..having a tough time figuring out what you're singing. the music arranging and production is very pretty creative. I like the music VERY much, but I am lukewarm on the vocals.

I really like this song!!! The music is fantastic, the vocals are a bit buried at times but I really like the way that works withing the context of the song. I LOVE the guitar sound and would like a little insight as to how you tracked it...what you used etc.

Good tune-kinda melancholy-The vocals sounded pretty good-however it seemed like the bottom end of the guitars was clashing with them a bit. I had a hard time picking up the chord progression at certain times-maybe a single note part part to highlight the musical movement would help. Otherwise a good tune and it works nicely with your other material.

Oh yeah what was with that crazy drum fill out of nowhere? heh -It kinda startled me.

Thanks for the notes guys. I'll be listening and remixing tonight with those things in mind.

Mixmkr- re-perform all vox ya think?

King Elvis- For the acoustic, I mic'ed a Guild through my keyboard (unaffected- just need a "pre-amp" for my shitty Audigy Platinum), doubled it and spread 'em apart. Nothing fancy. Oh and a little bit of verb.

Stratomaster- I noticed that on the first listen in my truck yesterday, that the low end was chewing the vox up. I think I got most of it, believe it or not. When I listen tonight, I'm going to see if it's the guitars or, actually the lower synth pad that I really need to work with more. Yesterday it was the guitars. Could still be. Re: startling drums...what can I say...life is startling.

Anything about the vox performances (not necessarily mix) that just piss you off? As in delivery, tone, etc...I'm as Mixmkr says...luk warm about them.

Thanks for listening!

wow you doubled that acc gtr hu? as in second take right ?
if so that is some dead on playing in the begining. Fooled me (and seems like mixmkr too :)) that it was same stereo take.

The vocals seem buried for me too. The notes in the begining is realy down there and hard to sing it seems and might be too low for you. Vocals in general kind of "mooshy" sounding I can't make out the words and all. Some parts are a little out but it fits the song somehow, I'm big on intonation though. You have good ear the harmonies are cool.

Production and arangement is realy cool with all the sounds and stops and stuff :D
I think you liked the guitars too they are loudest in the mix :)

cheers

Real great sound on the guitars and nice playing. There was a lot of nice use of other instruments as well. There was a low keyboard part that added a real nice touch (I might suggest to bring it up in the mix a bit).

I had trouble hearing the vocals too. But I think there were some real nice harmony parts in there.

Was there a bit of feedback (or some kind of ringing) during the first 30 seconds of the song? I could hear something there. Also there was a percussion part (@1:30) that hits real hard and then backs off real quick. That was a bit drastic for my tastes.

this is next level type stuff..

That is one great vocal melody... and that little drum explosion is totally cool! For the most part you are getting great sound...

I like it a lot.. I think you could probably sing it even better, but if you didnt it wouldnt matter too much.. there are a few things that could have been better, like some of the cross stick drum beat stuff sounded a bit too busy at times BUT I wouldnt bother to change it if it was too much trouble.. I would bust out another while this vein was tapped..

this goes on my list of the best I have ever heard here.. I love the vocal melody how it is sung with the guitar.

my immediate favorite of yours..
