lol nola is like fat_fleet in that you can barely get a listen in before they've deleted the damn recording.

That's sorta true, but in this case SC deleted my link, I think. Maybe because it was a private link it expires after a certain time.

Ha, thanks for refreshing the link. I thought maybe you'd taken it down because you were ready to move on or something. I didn't know private links expired either.

This is really nice and I think the arrangement is excellent. The lead guitar parts come in at good points and really change things up nicely. The tones are all good for me - that fuzz part seems to have divided opinion, but knowing your musical reference points and sharing many of them myself too, I think it's fine.

Vocals are cool - again quite Ira Kaplin-esque.

On first listen having those lead parts so hard panned and coming in at different points felt a little unbalanced, but then I listened a couple of times more and it kind of started to gel. So I probably wouldn't change them now.

I listened on a couple of systems and on some the bass sounded fine and on others it was a little bit boomy. I'd do an EQ sweep and find which frequencies to notch down a little.

The only other thing is like others have said about the drums - some fills in the stoner wigout section would be good if you can add them to add a little more energy there. I think you got the twin guitars there spot on.

Other than that, it's all cool and I really enjoyed it. Nice work Nola :)

Thanks, Rob!
Soundcloud removed all private links a few days ago because of a security issue. I got an email about it, so they don't normally expire.

I've been working on another mix and got busy with personal stuff so I haven't been able to tweak this mix yet, but I have a list of notes and will soon.

Now that I'm seeing people mentioning the distorted guitar with the descending line, I realize I never mentioned it myself. I love it. It sounds great. The level is perfect. Could the tone be different? That's a matter of opinion. Personally, I'm fine with it. That is all.
