wrote this back in the mid 90s. recorded it with my band but never was really happy with it then...

thought i would do it over. actual Stalin speech there in the break...

what does it need, a bullet? :-)

Cool song. Personally, since it's an older writing from the 90's - I would modernize it by shortening up some of the parts / changes - to make it flow faster. Don't get me wrong - I like all of the different parts - I would just condense a little. The mix was pretty good - drums might be a little low and thin - vox are plenty loud - don't catch much bass gtr. It may take on a different "life" if you revisit it and modernize a touch. Damn cool riff though. The off time drums in the beginning threw me at first.

thanks AW. i think that opening hit for the drums is kind of mushy, may could add a good snare smack to it.
would you bring the vox down? verse and chorus?
i guess it could stand some pruning, i think i just dug it up to help me get familiar with my recorder and techniques...
do you think the guitars should be fattened up any or maybe just bring the drums and bass up around them?

thanks again!!

I think the vox are fine - both chorus and verse. It's the thin drums and lack of bass that makes the vox sound so out front - but they're good where they are. A slightly thicker gtr sound might be needed once the low end is thickened. That's how it goes though - as soon as you add or adjust something - the mix changes and other things need adjusted.

That's my humble / somewhat experienced opinion - if you decide to revisit it with a fresh approach.
