My daughter wrote this one last month and we just finished recording it last night. She did a great job with the lyrics and vocal melody/harmonies.

She was determined to play all the instruments herself (drums, bass, guitars) so I was “hands off” on this one. I was just there to produce and record/mix it. I gave her a few pointers on a couple parts but this tune is all her…nice job!

I’m jealous because she doesn’t even need a bit of pitch correction on her vocals (mine do!). I present to you “Everyday” from the mind of a 14 year old:

Everyday

We spend our whole lives sinking
Into the words we’re thinking
So complex I can’t understand
Even though I know it firsthand

Thoughts are made of power
The world we own is ours
Never would you decide
From your mind to divide

Millions of thoughts fly by me
Everyday
Neurons fire electrical pulses

You can think without thinking
Your brain does all of the big things
Please sit back and relax
Your mind is your own almanac

Millions of thoughts fly by me
Everyday

Thoughts are always coming
You can try
you can try
you can try to stop them
But they are always there
No matter what you do

We spend our whole lives sinking
Into the words we’re thinking
Everyday

She’s doing great stuff! She has a new one in the works that has an awesome melody. Coming soon!

I tuned the drums. I blended a little bit of a sample in with the snare because I needed more snare wires. Everything else is just my kit (Noble & Cooley Horizon with a Ludwig Black Beauty snare). Mix of Beyer and Audix mics.

That is really good. Like all the kooky inflections.
I would focus on making the music a bit more odd.
She has a musical future. I'd probably buy the album.
👍👍👍
