... A week before Van Halens "Sinners Swing Tour" in LA..... I had an encounter with Yah..... the spirit of God and had to dissengage from everything else that was going on and secure my understanding and relationship with this newfound entity before I could continue doing anything else.

Yeah...I think back then a lot of folks found God in and around LA.... :D

Whatever gets you through the night, is alright, with me.
(I think there was a song... :))

Welcome Mike :D

That's how cool you are.

Or actually it's how many times people click the little sheriff badge under your post and approve of your post - it gives you points which increases your rep power... Its a vicious circle.

A lot of people have been on this forum for like 27 years and they now have like 84 zillion rep points. I think it maxes out at 27 million or something.

You can barter for them like smokes and beer in prison.

K-ROQ radio in LA was the station of choice and especially the Rodney Binginheimer show, which played all kinds of "hear it nowhere else" new stuff.
I wish I had recorded more of KROQ back when I lived in LA. They just showed The Mayor Of Sunset Strip on cable. Rodney knew EVERYONE.

Welcome Senormac - and please don't say you are old at only 53. Life begins at 40, so you are really only 13. :D

I have 6 years on you and I still feel young. England had a King when I was born and Winston Churchill was Prime Minister. :p

Are you sure you and moresound aren't identical twins, separated at birth?

That was a kickin station in the late 70's early 80's. I can still remember some dj's like Jed the Fish, Frasier Smith (before he went to KLOS) and of course Rodney. Tuned it in on a trip down there a couple years ago and was lost. I don't know what they were playin. Kind of a hip hop latin dance tech something.... IDK.... I think I'm just out of touch

:D :D :D

No - He's in New England and I am in the original.

He is in New Hampshire and today I'm off to the original Hampshire.

Oceans apart. :D

But he still thinks young, just like me, so we may be alike in many ways - you never know.

My father was in Canada during the war (RAF training), but moresound's too young for that. :D

So, I'm getting my selection narrowed down. I think I'm gonna start with Cubase cuz I have two sons who use it and will be able to tell me all kinds of valuable info. Going with Cubase will serve two purposes. 1. Ya gotta start somewhere..... and 2. It will lift up my two boys spirits to think they are helping their "old man" with some of this new fangled technology that he can't figure out ..... :D

A lot of audio interfaces come with Cubase LE 4 free - I have used it vier about a year and have not run into any limitations yet.
For the price of full "Cubase 6" ($450) you could get a mixer and "Cubase LE 4" - I see "Cubase Essential 5" for $150 but honestly I don't even know what the diff is between LE4/5/6 someone will tell me soon I am sure of it :)

Kids. I started recording in the mid '70's, two track, then four track, then 8 track, and left it a couple of years later to go into the pro audio business. I didn't want to compete with my customers so I sold all my gear (sold my 4 track gear to Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis when they were just starting out). A couple of years ago I got back into recording (on location) again and have decided that I am going to be a recording engineer when I grow up. I am currently using a Presonus Firestudio 2626, Presonus Digimax FS, ART Digital MPA and have a second Firestudio just in case I need even more channels. For software I use Reaper. You can check out some of the stuff recorded by this 61 year old in my sig. ;)

I love rep from newbies.... you get a little grey chicklet and your count goes up........ zero... It's the thought that counts. :)

As I've said elswhere, about 99% of my rep points have been gained from being a smart arse... :laughings:
