Mshilarious reopened the Studio Store with new products...
The MSH-2 microphone, the MSH-5 Orange Crunch™ blues harp microphone, and the MDI phantom-powered direct box...

Check it out...

btw, what hapenned to the MSH-10?

Isn't the MSH-1 really the 1O?

Because it says the MSH-1 is omni, which is what I thought the 1O was.

How would the Orange Crunch sound on a guitar?
So many choices.
I'm gonna have o think on this but I am so happy with my MSH1A that I'm keen for another.

There's still on there. There are tabs across the top of the frame in the store and the first one is for the MSH-1 series.

orange crush

I play harp and would love a mic that overdrives just right. I have a 1930's crystal astatic mic that I'm just plain afraid to bring to bar/blues things. Not to mention my vintage tube amp.

If that mic sounds as good as I think it does, well, that's pure genius.

Does he still sell the drum mic package?

I think all the parts are there but I don't see it packaged.

The Orange Crunch is a way cool idea. http://www.naiant.com/studiostore/specialtymics.html

I was gonna guess LED's in the Orange Crush, but Ge diodes...I was only on the complete opposite end of the forward voltage scale :D

MSH-2 looks cool...still waiting for an SM-81 type cardioid so I can sell my C4's and get a pair of B1's...

Man, I want the tube mic and the orange crush - and I totally suck at harp. :o

That never stopped me from buying a piece of gear. :p

MSH-5, self noise at 30 dB hmmm...

maybe you're missing the point of the MSH-5. i don't think they were really aiming for super low self noise.

I guess I'm missing the point...did you tried tracking using mic with 30dB self noise?

it's basically a mic with an overdrive pedal built in, of course it's gonna have noise.

I wonder what happened to the phantom power block? That was on my list to get, but it doesn't seem to be there anymore....

I noticed that the MSH-2, (with larger 10mm capsule), has a narrower freq. response than the MSH-1 (from 20Hz- 20KHz for MSH-1 to 40Hz-16KHz for MSH-2)- but the self-noise is the same for both @ 20 dBA. I'm curious to hear Mshilarious' take on suggested applications between the two series....

I can´t find the MSH1O -is not on the MSH1 tab, apl-, the one to use like OHs...
any idea of what happend?

Seems it's now called MSH-1 Omnidirectional. The cardioid is MSH-1K.

He needs to ream his marketing department a new one.

Hey APL,

Please don't takle this the wrong way. I'm just curious what your affiliation with MShilarious is? You really seem to push his mics VERY hard. Is it just that you REALLY like them that much or do you know MSH personally and are doing it a bit as a favor to a friend? I don't care either way - just curious where you're coming from.

I have a pair of MSH-1a's. They're nice little mics - great, in fact, for the price, but they aren't neccesarily the cats ass on every single thing. In fact, thruth be told, I haven't found an app that I would chose them OVER another mic I have. Part of that is, I guess, I haven't found a great app for omni's period. That's largely due to crappy room acoustics that I'm trying to remove from my tracks. Maybe if I was in a nice studio, the MSH mics would shine more to my ears.
