Well I finally posted some new MP3 files on my idrive: http://www.idrive.com visit "fishmed". It seems like idrive has been messing up lately, so you may need some patience.
Anyway... I put a new version of Zelot out there. I would like to know if this mix is better than the first. I left the first out there for those of you who've not heard it yet.
* Crumble is an instrumental that I recorded many years ago of some friends.
* Ponder is another recording I did for another friend just last year. I will remix that songs so I will need your technical opinions on it. BTW, the file clips at the begining, so please ignore that problem.
*Pro4 is my debut song for this BBS. I am not much of a musician/song writer so you will hear very few things from me posted here. This is a concept song I did back in '94. I never wrote lyrics for the chorus.

ENJOY!!!!!!!!

Fishmed,
I liked the "new" Zelot...sounded very clean and balanced. On that vocal part (it's just an eye)I hear an underlying sound...is that the vocal detuned along with the original? Your recordings sound Goooooooood!

Well I'm a big fan of the tune in both mixes.
I think the new one sounds a lot "crisper" but also somewhat "harsher". I like the heavier low mid presence in the first version. Though it is a bit "rounded off and smoothed over" relative to the new mix.
I would've thought that the crisper high end of the new version would help me comprehend the lyrics better. Nope.
Ponder was really nice. What can I say?
Drums could be a bit more real?
Crumble is a nice Satch/Vinnie Moore tribute.
Thanks for sharing!

Cool tune! One of the cleanest recordings I've heard to date! Definitely found the new Zelot to have more of an edge to it thanks to the added hign-end detail.

Thanks for the responces. :)
Garger: ont the choruses, he did a death metal type of voice in the background. Oh and the words he was really saying is: "It's just denied." He is a young singer and has lots to learn aboout pronouncing words.

Good stuff, Fishmed....Ya know, I liked the mix on Zelot a couple months ago when you posted it, but I think I like this one better..I could understand most of the words, and as other have said, it's cleaner...I like Ponder, but is there any way to keep the spacey feel and have the words intelligble?...the writer must have spent some time on 'em, and particularly with a song this long they would help us know what was in mind....the end fade,(just my op...) starts fading way too soon...might be cool if it started fading on the last note....I loved Crumble...wish the background vocal sounds could come up a bit more to really give a little more ear candy...Pro4 is so good...you need to write more...kind of a King Arthur sorta feel to it...I could hear this in a movie very easily...might wanna double or add some effects to the vocal to shine it up....anyway, I enjoyed hearing these, and these are just one guy's opinions....gibs

I like it. It's a real moody track. It reminds me of Mazzy Star a little. I'm very familiar with them though, so I might be off on that. I really like the backmasked drums, that was a neat touch. I liked it a lot man. Great job.

I'm such an idiot. I thought I was on Ametth's tune. I swear I was a second ago. No matter. I'll post a review of your work after I listen to it. Sorry about that!
