Pleads the 5th...
I guess this was my way of trying to deal with the events of 9-11-01. Now, if I can deal with the job of mixing this thing... ...but thats another story... Give it a listen at NowhereRadio , and let me know what you think. Thanx, Tom.

YES! thats a fine example of vocal prowess. I just love the energy in your voice.

THe mix is good. THe vox is good. I would like to hear more bass presence in it(the vox) though. THe high end on it was nice.

The synth ( in the chorus) sound on the right sounded rather uninvolved.

Was there an organ in there? It seemd to be everywhere.

I really liked the guiit and your playing

Thanx. I guess I must have gotten the second mix up before you listened to it. The first mix was terrible. I'm still tweeking it though. The vocals still need work, the low drone going on needs to be fixed because it doesn't transfer to smaller speakers all to well (I'm using JBL G743's, so they can take the bass). And the more I listen to it, I think I must have wacked the wammy-bar on my axe because there's an open note that sounds out of tune (That pisses me off:mad: ). Thanx again, Tom.

Well, I've got yet another re-mix of this thing, but I have to wait a while to upload it. I got the low end under control this time (I think) - took some out of the mix, and added some to the vox. The "organ" you question is actually supposed to be horns, but I don't have the Tower of Power horn section in my back pocket, so they're a little lame. I did some editting of those as well in the new mix. I need to e-mail Waldo again. He's been pretty good about deleting my old mixes from his site at my request, but they remain on the NowhereRadio home page. I need to talk to him about getting rid of the old mixes (titles) from that page as well before I upload this next mix so it doesn't look like I'm trying to stack the deck. Thanx again. Tom.

OK, The last attemt to mix this thing before I drag my ass into a studio and put some real horns, bass, drums... I think it's an ok mix for what I'm working with, still needs work but the nuts & bolts are there. Please check it out at NowhereRadio.com , and give me some feedback. Thanx, Tom

wish I had the old mix to compare it to...I remember the vocal being more up front in the original and i liked it.....i think that "horn" part needed to be pushed back a tad, either with a volume cut or reverb......I loved the Amazing Grace-ish guitar solo....great songwriting and very moving song.....your voice is quite good, very powerful.....

"before I get into a real studio with real horns.."....hell ya....need a producer?....

I still listen to "Thinking of You" a good bit.....burned on one of my CD's I listen to at work.....

Thanx Gidge, Hey, talk to my about this producer stuff. I really think I may want to do something with this song, but, like the other ones, I record them and don't have a clue as to what to do with them to get them out there. Could you, or someone else out there, explain the "roles" of producers, etc. If you "produce" Gidge, then maybe we should talk. Thanx again, Tom.

FM...... Brother.....I truly FELT this song. Your vocal intensity, emotional lyrics, synth horns providing harmonic balance
and sincere, overall chordal expressions provided me with feelings the same as when I hear, "AMERICA The BEAUTIFUL", "SWING LOW SWEET CHARIOT" and Whitney Houston's version of the "STAR SPANGLED BANNER" !!! I heard vocal nuances of BRUCE
and J.Cocker! Man, this jammy had me involved!!!! D@mn near captured my state of being of 9/11. ABBBB FABBB!!!
Technically,a tad mo' bass, lil mo' horn continuity,IMO,is the only
aspect prevented this jammy from being rated 4&3/4 ****'s to 5
which is truly minor!!! Your song has been burned to C/D for
continuos play on my home, car, and personal stereo.
I LOVED it!!!!!
F#ckin' GREAT SONG!!! ***sniff***
Peace
Mr.Q

Thanx Q. I'm hooked up with this guy (can't mention names) who is the Director of Composition at Berkley (Boston, Mass), and conducts the Washington Symphonic Orch. I'm hoping he likes the tune and can hook me up with some REAL horns. As far as the Bass goes, it was done on Cakewalk as well with a sound module. You're the bassman, you gonna hook me up, or what? BTW, I've gotten some e-mail from friend saying that the quality of the lo-fi stream of the song at the location it's in now is less than desireable. I checked it out and agree. I don't know if it's the track there or what, but it can also be heard on mp3.com . I'm not hooked up with their P4P, or Payola, or any other money making gimick with them, so I'm not getting rich by directing you there. The streams do seem to play a little clearer from there, though. I'm gonna e-mail Waldo, to see if he's aware of the aparent streaming problem because it is a problem. I know when I listen to something, and it sounds like shit, I automaticaly blame the stooge who put up such a shitty mix, and (until now) never though there might be a problem with the actual mp3 on a particular site. Anyway, Thanx again Q. Pass the tune onto LI Slim for me if you get a chance. Tom.
