Yeah, it's been squirrelly for a few days now. The mix isn't to bad at all. Maybe a bit kick drum shy but for this genre that may not be incorrect.

Hey Ken:

You've got a really well-balanced mix here. My opinion is that the overall sound could use a little opening-up, or "brightening". I would think this would be pretty easy to accomplish, since from what I can hear the problem isn't with any one instrument. My guess is that a slight cut in the mids with a very slight boost in the 3k-7k area would really improve the overall clarity and add that little "sparkle". Or maybe a little sprinkle of harmonic excitation on the high mids. Just my preference, obviously. But sounds great.

Hello,

The mix sounds pretty damn good to these ears. I nod in agreement to Grouchos comments on the need for some "sparkle" but, it's not ruining anything as is.

I must say, I didn't care for the lead sythn/keys sound but, I liked what you where playing. Just a matter of opinion. Mix sounds good!!!

Peace,
Theron.

Thanks guys. I noticed the kthump left the bass drum after I converted to mp3, Track Rat, and the sizzle at the 6k area was diminished as well as you guys noticed . I know where to compensate now, before I convert to mp3.
That lead synth sound was a really weak sample of a trombone. There's a bit of stuff to go over the rythym tracks yet. I want to get the rythym section clean and clear first. That trombone part will be in it, but it will be scattered and not lengthy in the parts where it comes in. Never this type of genre before so we`ll see when its finished how it turns.... :)

very nice piece....

at this point yes it is missing some top end....if you are adding to it that may change the whole landscape so dont change anything at this point....

very cool stuff...again....:)

nice groove.. I echo the comments about the lack of crispness.. maybe add some.. the problems I'm hearing aren't the encoding though.. a 128 mp3 usually adds to the highs.. (that's what I notice on my stuff)

nice groove..

I added a touch around 3k and near 11k for a little sizzle. I think it`ll be clean enough now to add the other parts. My monitors artificially enhance the highs so I tend to dull it some and go a little too far. They get replaced next.
That thin assed trombone will be replaced too.
I appreciate yall`s ears..

:)

that helped a bit with the high end, but now something sounds kinda 'A.M. Radioish' about the mix.. I think it's the drums, or maybe the mp3 conversion.. not sure.. It sounds good for the most part though.. good groove..

hahahahah..... your right and I'm aggrevated as hell with it for now :)

I can`t get the kick up in that drum kit like I want, so I`m gonna trash that track, but I want to hang on to that island groove.
I'll give ya a holler when I get it all done.
