Well hello there. My name is Ben. Been self recording for around 10 years now. Looking to find out some hints and tips to take my recording to the next level as im taking it quite seriously now! I will also try and help where ever i can :D nice to meet you, forum!

Hi! My name is Joseph from West Virginia. I recently discovered a new affection for Home Recording through my own independent music venture. I have built a semi-home studio and am learning at a very fast rate. I started wanting to record my Alternative/Traditional Hip-Hop and slowly discovered a new passion even beyond my genre comfort zone (since I am also a member of a robust Hardcore/Punk/Rock/Metal scene in my area).

I started out with an M-Audio USB microphone, rigged broken mic stand, home-made pop-filter and a "version" of Sony Acid on my gaming computer running Windows 7.

Since then I have upgraded to Macbook Pro (Mountain Lion), 2-Channel PreSonus Audiobox USB, AudioTechnica AT2020 Cardioid Condenser Microphone, Pop-Filter, A Mic Stand that's not broken, CAD Microphone Isolater, AKAI MPK25, M-Audio Axiom 25, and M-Audio AV40 Studio Monitors. And I'm not so proud of this but I received beats pro (beats by dre) headphones as a gift...not the best bang for the buck...but at least they are the higher end models. Plus some external HDD. I have a long way to go still yet.

I found this site after listening to some Home Recording podcasts and my desire for a community that can answer some questions and learn from other posts. I plan to be a very active member!

Hello I am Greg and I have been putting a studio together for the past 3 years, I have recorded many artist in the bay area. I HAD A FEW QUESTIONS regarding my next purchase...

So I have a grey area on whats more benficial to get first to improve over all quality of sound. Right now I am using a M audio profire 2626 and want to get a nice neve 4 channel pre, or a Big Ben Master Clock. I fear the Clock will decrease the quality since I am replacing the clock in the profire 2626..What should I do??

I am a new member here and I hope I can find more friends here and specially everyone can reply on what I'm asking. :D

Hello my name is Greg ans I am Trying to figure out what is better to get for now while I have bit of money..
I currently have a profire 2626 and has great converters, I was looking into the Big Ben Master Word Clock. I know it will replace the one in the profire, but will it decrease the quality because of that? My other option is getting a Neve 4 channel pre.. What is more important, and what should I do?

Hi everyone! I've already made a couple of posts, but I thought it'd be nice to pop in here an officially introduce myself. :)

My name is Lisa and I'm new to all of this. My brother in law runs a recording studio, which is what got me interested. All I have right now is a MacBook Pro to work with, but hopefully that will be changing soon... :)

Let me introduce Myself...

Hello,
New here, but not new to recording.... look forward to reading, learning, maybe helping others here...
I'm a full-time musician. I also own and operate a small studio in Fair Play, S.C.
That's about it for now... gotta do some looking and reading around here... See Ya around!!

Allow myself to introduce... uh, myself

Greetings, All!

My name is Eric and I have been writing, recording, and performing for over 20 years. I started my home studio with a Vestafire 4-track recorder (remember those?) and have been building up my studio ever since. Although I have taken on studio clients in the past, I have recently expanded my home studio into a fully functioning commercial facility in my garage.

I have been a member over at the VS-Planet forums for about 12 years, but for some reason I have never checked out this forum until today. I'm looking forward to spending more time here and gaining what I can from you while at the same time, seeing what I can offer in return.

Later,

No Greg it wont, slaving to the Big Ben will not degrade the ProFires clock because it will be ineffective you will be slaving to the clock of the big ben. Pre's are more important than clocks cause you can still make good recording with out clock but not so without pre's.

Hi everyone! I'm 17 years old rapper and rap producer newbie from Poland. I recently bought Shure PG48 and now I'm looking for nice preamp.

Hi folks.

I'm a 21 year old from southeastern Ohio who is going to school for audio engineering. I thought I'd just join up and read some of the cool things that are being posted here. I'll probably lurk more than post, but I'll contribute if I feel like I should (why talk when there's nothing to say?).

New to posting here

Hi everyone, I've been lurking reading for a while trying to learn a little about the trade. I'm having some issues so I thought I might get involved by posting and perhaps find some answers. First let me tell you about myself I'm a performer not a sound tech. To me most of the time I find that the tech side robs me of my creative juices . . . I'm trying to get past that. I'm a singer first guitarist second and have a background of percussion in my past. So there you have the sorted details :guitar:
