New Members: Introduce Yourself Here!

Sticking to formalities:

Hello, I am new here, and I am not an animal, I am a human being:)

One question if I may, how do I upload an avatar? I've searched the dashboard/customize profile and cannot see the option.

Thank you.

Firstly, I must say I'm surprised nobody else had picked the name "Tinny". Maybe that's a dirty word among audiophiles, eh?

Anyway, I'm glad to be here and from what I've glanced at around the forum, I expect I'll learn a lot from being here.

Cheers.

Hey.
Tinny is fine. Honky is racist, though. Headsup!

Hello!

My name is Tommy Sirois and I want to create a recording home studio / mixing studio to create music for video games. (I'm a video game programmer and want to be a music creator too)

Welcome to the forum, Tommy.
What kind of games are you making?
Do you stream or have a channel? Stick a link in your signature. :)

Hey hey!
Click settings at the top right then 'edit avatar' in the left hand list.
If it's not available then there must be a post-count restriction but don't worry...It'll be something low like 10 or 15.

Welcome. :)

So I joined almost 2 years ago, but have found enough information on various threads that I never felt the need to ask too many questions (Crazy how handy that "search" feature is when you actually use it! :thumbs up:) Anywho, I figured I should finally start putting my registration to good use! My name is James, and I've been playing music (primarily punk rock and metal) for the past 15 years, and originally got into recording as a means of self-production. I did my first demo on a PortaStudio 414 that belonged to the guitarist in the band I was in at the time, and soon after, I built my own (extremely) crude rig using my stereo (it had RCA aux inputs, and dual tape decks for dubbing) and a Realistic mixer I found in the trash (where it rightfully belonged anyway!) Since then, I've upgraded a few times, but I never quite lost my love for jerry-rigged workarounds that usually look ugly, but get the job done. Still a punk after all these years, I suppose!

Howdy James! Great name BTW. :)

Welcome to the forum man. Sounds like the way I started many many years ago. Nothing wrong with being a punk as long as it works. :)

Greetings fellow-funsters!

I've just celebrated my 49th year of involvement in the wonderful world of recording... started with open-reels at 3.75 ips, morphed on through 15ips for album work and am now fully digital - of course! Specialism is location recording for archive and local release for amateur and semi-pro groups of musos and also for radio OBs.

Hi y'all. I'm an aspiring VO artist and I'm hoping to build a studio in the garden and start producing my own audio plays etc.

Hey y'all! I finished my music composition degree about a year ago. I'm mainly trying to bridge the gap between Baroque and Classical music and Hip-Hop/EDM. I started diving into production through Ableton around a year and a half ago. Finally have a semi-functional set-up at home (I'm sure there's a thread for that so I won't go into it here) for recording, but usually just take my equipment to wherever I'm recording. I figured I should start trying to get advice on my set-up ad some feedback on my recordings from people that have no reason to care about my feelings!

Hi Everyone, my name is Bandeseation , I'm happy to have find the forum! I'm having a lot fun with my DAW while producing my original music.

Hey everyone!

Wow, what a great resource these forums are! I'm so glad this is out there, I've learned a lot in the short time I've been here.

I do a lot of solo instrumental funk recordings. Mostly, I play bass and Rhodes, but I play a bit of guitar and synth as well.

Anyway thanks for having these great forums!

Hi all,

I'm sorta new here. Today I went to register and discovered that I have been a member since 2004 and just forgot about it. I record at home (obviously) and gave recently rediscovered my passion for it along with a desire to improve my skills at it. I play guitar, bass, sax, dabble on keys, bang at drums, and sing. I made some demos of my music many years ago and want to go back and make a real attempt at making something I won't have to apologize for if it gets heard.

I'm here for tips and advice on mixing and mastering, gear implementation and acquisition, and also to offer what wisdom I might posses to those who might need it.

Just signed in here. I decided to join some forums because nobody wants to talk about recording & mixing in my real life.
It's difficult to find anyone who gets excited to hear about the new plugin I just bought or how I fixed a bass line that was recorded 30 years ago. Unless I want to convert to a beer drinking, classic car buff or talk about who's on top of the NFC west.... there's just not a lot of guys around here like me. HELP

Hi, there!!!
Del Rei, from Brazil (Rio de Janeiro).
Nice to be here, guys!

Actually, I'm a guitar player in a Rock band (Qu4rto Teto).

:)

Yeah Hi , Im new here , I think I used to have an account here maybe ten years ago , but yeah , Hi ! Im back on board and ready to rumble

hi my name is Nick. I'm from Austin, Texas, but am currently living in Lincoln, Nebraska. I play guitar and sing, and make like lo-fi indie-rockish stuff?? Not sure how to categorize it, but some of my main influences are Elliott Smith, Pavement, Built to Spill, and Bob Dylan (he's the man). I mainly record through an old Tascam 4-track, because I love that old analog tone. Glad to be here.
